Since 2004, Marx & Wahlen Agrar GmbH & Co. KG has been operating biogas plants at various locations in the region. Among other things, biomethane has been produced since 2024, which is processed using a membrane process and fed into the local natural gas grid.
The biogas plants also produce electricity for feeding into the grid and for own use - as well as heat, which supplies several public facilities and private households in the local area via a heat pipeline. This combination supplies the region with electricity, heat and biomethane from a sustainable source.
"agriportance advised us in particular on the switch to gas processing at the Schillingen site and supported us with their technical service in order to ultimately do justice to the fuel sector by calculating GHG quotas and mass balances.
We will continue to rely on the services and the agriportance software in the future, which makes our work much easier when collecting the necessary data. We are certain that agriportance is constantly evolving and, as a young and innovative team, stands for progress in agricultural digitalization," says Nicolas Marx, operator of the Schillingen facilities, Marx & Wahlen Agrar GmbH & Co. KG
