DEVELOPMENT OF THE BIOMETHANE PRICE IN GERMANY
The biomethane market in Germany has been on the rise for years. The market is characterised due to increasing prices for biogas fed into the grid. The main driving force behind this is the introduction of the Renewable Energy Directive III (REDIII) and increased interest in bio-LNG and, in some cases, bio-CNG. This results in the increased Prices for biomethane primarily from manure and advanced residues. These are currently eligible for double-counting in the greenhouse gas quota (GHG quota) system and, due to their better GHG value, can be counted towards renewable raw materials (NawaRos) is one step ahead on the revenue side. This makes the production of biogas more interesting and offers new opportunities for biogas plant operators outside the enr power generation in the EEG. The following data comes from discussions with participants in the biomethane market and only reflects a section of the overall market. Participants in the biomethane market include, for example, operators of biogas feed-in plants or bio-LNG liquefaction plants. The agriportance cannot guarantee the accuracy of the prices for biomethane.
